Data Center / Rate Increase

Mayes County Rural Water District 2 has NOT been in talks with a Data Center moving into the District. If such an application were submitted that required improvements to the infrastructure, the applicant would be responsible for all costs associated with any such improvements, not the District and not the customers.

There was an Agenda ietm to discuss/review current rates that was tabled at the March 9, 2026 Meeting but that was a routine rate review. The District does have to review the rates and discuss raises periodically to keep up with the rising cost of doing business.

Agendas are posted on the front door of the water office in Mazie, Oklahoma (202 W Broadway) before the meeting, as well as online- under the Agendas section of the News & Notices tab.

Now Hiring!

Mayes County Rural Water District 2 is looking for a Meter Reader.

Basic Requirements are:

  • 18+ years old with a High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid unrestricted Driver's License with no tickets or accidents within the past 3 years
  • Must have reliable transportation and be available for after hours/emergency call outs
  • Must be able to work outside and kneel up and down - light physical labor
  • Pay will be discussed in interview

Meter Reading System

We are experiencing issues with our remote reading system. While the meter is fully functional, a large portion of the sending units are not sending the read back to the office. We are currently looking for a new system, but in the meantime, IF you are able we request that you call the office with a meter reading.  We normally figure bills beginning the 23rd of the month, if you could call your read in around that day (or any day that works better for you) we would appreciate it.  Please only get in your meter can if you are physically able!

Water Outages

There is a construction crew moving through the District installing fiber optic lines that keep hitting our water lines, sometimes multiple times in a day/night. We have no advance notice or any way to warn customers of when the water will be off.  The maintenance crews are working day, night and weekends to get the water restored as quickly as possible once we are notified. Please know that we are doing everything we can to prevent this, but these crews are not our employees or contractors and we have no authority over them.

**We believe the online balances issue has been fixed- please call the office to verify your balance, if needed.
